For greatest immediate impact, fluorescent window displays can be used. The disadvantage is that they fade, requiring a re-spray of the paint in a couple months or so (depending on sunlight exposure)
Lettering colors stand up to the sunlight and are still bright. They will outlast the previous, sometimes lasting years although intended as temporary displays
For truly permanent window signage, I use One Shot Lettering colors which last many years.
